The Festival is a showcase for new and emerging talent as well as established names.

Submissions are invited for the 2015 Film and Literary Programmes.

Film Submission

  • Submissions are open to all genres and subject matter.
  • Short films must be less than 35 minutes (including credits). There is no maximum length for films over 35 minutes. Experimental films and animation can be of any duration.
  • Films must have been produced after 1 May 2013.
  • Films do not require any premiere status.
  • The Festival organises six competitions: Best Feature (fiction), Best Feature (documentary), Best Short (fiction), Best Short (documentary), Best Experimental Film or Animation, Best Young Filmmaker (under 24 years old).
  • Films must be in English or sub-titled in English.
  • The deadline for submissions is 31 March 2015.
  • Successful entries will be notified by 30 April 2015

Entry Fees

  • Feature Length (35 min +): £20
  • Short Films (35 minutes or less): £12

Poetry, Prose, or Essay Submission

  • Submissions are open to all genres and subject matter.
  • Works are welcome from new and previously published writers.
  • The Work must be entirely the work of the entrant, and previously unpublished.
  • The Doctrine digital magazine is sponsoring our ‘word’ competitions. Winning entries will be featured in The Doctrine, in the Festival newspaper, and on-line.
  • Categories:
    • Long Poem
    • Short Poem (less than 40 lines)
    • Flash Fiction (max 150 words)
    • Short Story (2,000 – 7,500 words)
    • Essay (1,500 – 5,000 words)
  • The deadline for submissions is 31 March 2015.
  • Short List announced by 30 April 2015

Entry Fees

  • Poems and Flash Fiction: £5
  • Essay and Short Story: £10
